The Department of the Foreign Affairs and Trade is seeking experienced Technology Trainers to support the implementation of ICT projects as part of a large transformational program of work.

The Department is seeking experienced TSPV or TSPA cleared Training Service Managers to design and deliver engaging training programs that empower employees to confidently use digital tools and systems. This role is critical in supporting organisational capability and driving technology adoption across the business.

Key duties and responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and deliver technology training sessions (in-person and virtual) tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Create high-quality training materials, including user guides, presentations, and e-learning modules.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and collaborate with stakeholders to identify training requirements.
  • Provide hands-on support and troubleshoot technical issues during training sessions.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and performance metrics.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices in adult learning.

Training Service Managers found suitable will be required to hold and maintain a TSPV or TSPA clearance throughout the course of this work. 

About the team

The Information Management and Technology Division (IMD) within DFAT is a client service driven division, dedicated to delivering high quality, fit-for-purpose ICT solutions to DFAT’s global workforce. The division includes six branches: Business Solutions Branch (BSB), Infrastructure & Operational Support Branch (ISB), Cyber Security, Cloud and Networks Branch (CRB), Data and Service Delivery Governance (DAB), Global Modernisation Branch (IGB) and ICT Strategy and Investment Management Branch (IPB). The division delivers complex, high value and high-risk ICT programs and multi-year digital transformation initiatives.

Essential criteria

1. Training Delivery Expertise o Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering technology training programs for diverse audiences.

2. Technical Knowledge o Strong understanding of relevant software, systems, and digital tools, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

3. Instructional Design Skills o Ability to develop engaging training materials, including presentations, guides, and e-learning content.

4. Communication, Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to facilitate interactive sessions. o Experience collaborating with business units to identify training needs and measure effectiveness.

5. Adaptability and Problem-Solving o Capability to tailor training approaches to different learning styles and troubleshoot technical issues during sessions.

6. Continuous Learning o Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies and best practices in adult learning.

All services must be delivered on-site.
