- Test Managers oversee the whole testing practice and manage the deployment of testing resources and testing approaches.
- Health Systems and Governance is seeking to engage a Test Manager as a non-ongoing AFP appointee to
be utilised to provide the following services to the AFP. - Equivalent to AFP Work Level Standards Band 7, this appointee will be required to hold and maintain an AFP
NV1 Security Clearance. - The Test Manager will work as part of the Integrated OHS Project Team (i.e. AFP OHS Project and External
Implementation Partner teams).
Key duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities
1.Create and execute fit for purpose test plans and test cases, in accordance with the project’s testing
strategy.
2. Document traceability between requirements and test cases.
3. Document test scripts, materials and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
4. Automate testing activities where possible, including through the development of bespoke test harnesses.
5. Specify requirements for environment, data, resources and tools to facilitate efficient and effective testing.
6. Interpret, execute and document complex test scripts.
7. Record and analyse actions and results, maintain a defect register, to progress defect resolutions and
regression testing.
8. Provide reports on testing progress, anomalies, risks and issues.
9. During testing work closely with business stakeholders and business analysts to review application process
defects and recommend corrective action.
10. Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for projects.
11. Build and maintain productive working relationships.
12. Good analytical skills and an attention to detail.
13. Good communication and writing skills and the ability to produce clear documentation that aligns with
agreed requirements, specification and outcomes.
14. Experience with IT system implementations
15. Requirement to hold and maintain an AFP NV1 Security Clearance.
The position is Canberra based, with contracted resources being required to work from AFP HQ Canberra (Edmund
Barton Building).
Key Selection criteria
• Must have a valid AGSVA or AFP NV1 Clearance at the time of application.
• Experience in performing as a Test Lead.
• Proven experience in producing Test Plans, Scripts and Reports.
• Experience in articulating and organising data requirements for testing.
• Experience in assessing defects and facilitating corrective action for re-testing.
• Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships.
• Excellent communication and writing skills and the ability to produce Test documentation of high quality.
• Experience with IT system implementations.
• Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
• Deep understanding of SDLC principles and the software development lifecycle including Agile and DevOps
practices and methodologies.
• Experience utilising tools such as Azure DevOps and ALM.
• ISTQB certification.
About the project
The Health Systems and Governance Team currently has 2 testers engaged (1 working on the project and 1 being shared with another project who is currently in their testing phase). The project requires additional testers and has gone out to market to identify 2 additional resources. The testing team requires a Test Manager to manage the testing stream of work. Given the projected timings to obtain security clearances the project is ready to approach the market to identify the additional testing resources that are required for delivery of the solution. The Test Manager will work closely with the respective Project Manager, the Solution Architect, Business Analyst and Technical/Development Team, to understand more about what the agreed solution and the associated products to be delivered are meant to do, their key features and who the users or user groups are. The Test Manager will be working closely with the system support teams and is responsible for end-to-end Test planning, execution and reporting, identifying and assessing deviations from the agreed solution requirements and specifications, and facilitating the fixing and retesting to ultimately improve the quality of the product to be delivered. The Test Lead is also a key stakeholder in the review of key project documents, to ensure they can be used to feed into the test planning and scripting activities.
The position is Canberra based, with contracted resources being required to work from AFP HQ Canberra (Edmund Barton Building). The worker is required to work 38 hours per week x 50 weeks
