Senior DevOps Engineer

The Digital Services Division (DSD) is responsible for enabling information and communication technology (ICT) functions and activities in the Department.  The Technology Infrastructure and Cloud Services Branch (TICSB) provides key services across a range of areas within the Department.  These include support and management of core IT Systems, change management and IT vendor management.

The Cloud Engineering Section in the TICSB is seeking (multiple) Azure DevOps Engineers to undertake a range of activities including, but not limited to:

• Support the creation of pipelines within Azure DevOps and resource deployment and configuration in the Department’s Azure Subscriptions.
• L3 infrastructure support for business applications
• provide significant support in the design, development and implementation of DAFF AZURE hosting platform.
• Management of all virtual infrastructure elements in DAFF AZURE hosting platform and in particular AZURE data factories, their functioning and deployment
• Develop code via a process of continuous engagement. (Agile).

Essential criteria

1. Experience in creating pipelines within Azure DevOps and able to deploy and configure resources in the Department’s Azure Subscriptions.

2. Experience in deploying at scale Azure Infrastructure resources like AAD, DNS and App Gateway.

3. Experience in deploying at scale Azure Infrastructure resources like AAD, DNS and App Gateway.

4. Experience in working with developers

5. Experience working for the Federal Government with considerations to compliance with the IT security environment (ACSC Essential 8, etc.).

6. Experience in producing technical documentation for application deployment and infrastructure services. Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, BedRock or PowerShell.

Position is Canberra based, can be a combination of remote and in office 3 days per week.
