Job Description:Senior Cloud & Automation Engineer

Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. The Cloud and Automation Engineer uses their in-depth knowledge of ICT infrastructure and applications to provide efficiencies through the automation of deployment and day- to-day activities. They will be required to work closely with business areas to ensure the provisioning of a robust infrastructure and application capability to the business that is in line with vendor requirements and departmental coding best practices.

Key duties and responsibilities

•    Develop, maintain and support automation of ICT infrastructure and applications.
•    Develop, maintain and support the department’s vRealize Automation (vRA) platform.
•    Create blueprints and workflows that aim to improve efficiencies of daily operational tasks.
•    Develop code/scripts in-line with departmental standards

Engaging a flexible ICT workforce will enable the Buyer to augment its requirements for the major work programs being undertaken.

Criteria

Essential

1. Extensive knowledge and experience in:
• VMWare Aria Automation
• VMWare Aria Orchestrator
• VMWare vSphere
• SaltStack
• Javascript, Powershell and Python scripting languages

Desirable

1. • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of IaaS, PaaS and XaaS with VMWare Aria Automation
• Demonstrated experience developing complex workflows in VMWare Orchestrator
• Demonstrated proficiency in Javascript, Powershell and Python

The agency requires these services at the agency’s premises in: Canberra. Adelaide, Brisbane, and Melbourne will also be considered. Working from home arrangements will be considered in the provision of these services. Contractors must work from the specified office location for a minimum of 6 weeks before a WFHA will be considered
