The AFP has a requirement for experienced PROJECT MANAGERS to work
within the Team of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Command.
The Services, delivered in collaboration with and under supervision by
nominated AFP personnel, include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Create and maintain project documentation in accordance with program requirements and methodologies based on MSP and Prince2;
- Lead the delivery of project outputs in accordance with project schedule, budget and quality standards;
- Manage and coordinate procurement and vendor management activities in a government environment
- Manage vendor / partner relationships and delivery timeframes;
- Manage technical and business stakeholder relationship;
- Manage technical and business resources to deliver project work packages;
- Manage project risks and resolve project issues;
- Attend project meetings with project teams and business clients;
- Have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills including ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders;
- Understand the mechanics of government including policy and program delivery for agencies;
- Manage and direct the project staff;
- Work effectively in a small team environment;
- Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other team members;
As part of the services, the specified personnel must:
- Maintain currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.
- Establish and maintain effective business relationships and professional networks.
- Contribute to and implement improved ICT practices and procedures.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and training.
- Work effectively in a small team environment, and wider Command environment.
- Remain accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, shares own expertise with others and guides and mentors less experienced buyer employees; and
- Record and maintain files/information in accordance with buyer requirements.

Essential criteria
1. Relevant Experience • Demonstrated experience managing, planning and executing Information and Communications Technology projects, or components of major ICT programs. • Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) in project management and recent delivery of complex projects • Demonstrated understanding and accreditation of Prince2, Projects In Controlled Environment version 2 methodology. • Formal information and communications technology qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution or demonstrated skills and experience. • Demonstrated experience in delivery of information/records management solutions and/or digital records transition activities • Demonstrated experience in managing and coordinating procurement activities in a government environment • Demonstrated experience in implementing enterprise wide ICT solutions.
2. Ability to deliver Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills, particularly in reporting, presentation and consultation and the ability to negotiate and communicate with relevant internal and external stakeholders. • SFIA Skill Levels: o Project Management: 5
3. Solution • Ability to adhere to AFP standards and practices • Ability to gain and maintain necessary clearance.
4. Flexibility and innovation • Supplier’s ability provide replacement personnel when required • Supplier’s ability to provide expert advice and support to identified personnel

Sustainability • Proposal to include hourly rates payable for each identified resource including Supplier Fee Breakdown provided in table • Demonstrate how resources will maintain contemporary knowledge of relevant policies and practices • Demonstrate how resources will maintain contemporary knowledge of IT commercial environment
