Key duties and responsibilities

The Services, delivered in collaboration with and under supervision by nominated AFP personnel, include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist the Program Manager in the preparation of program and project schedules and uploading milestones in identified tool;
  • Automate the upload of Scheduling milestones into identified tool;
  • Attend program meetings with program teams and business clients; 
  • Have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders;
  • Understand the mechanics of government including policy and program delivery for agencies; 
  • Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other teams; and
  • Record and maintain files/information in accordance with AFP requirements.

As part of the services, the seller must ensure the specified personnel:

  • Maintains currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.
  • Establishes and maintains effective business relationships and professional networks.
  • Contributes to and implements improved ICT practices and procedures.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching and training.
  • Works effectively in a small team environment, and wider Command environment.
  • Remains accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, shares own expertise with others and guides and mentors less experienced buyer employees.

The AFP reserves the right to engage further suppliers for the same services if required utilising this RFQ. Any offer of engagement will be made within 6-months of the RFQ release date.

Technical skills candidates would need to have (including but not limited to) are listed below:

  • Senior Scheduler (Minimum 5 years’ experience scheduling experience, and experience at the program level)
  • Prince2 Foundation Member
  • Experience in the use of MS Project 2013/2016
  • Strong planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in software lifecycle planning
  • Demonstrated understanding of PRINCE2 methodology
  • Demonstrated understanding of SAFE Agile Methodology
  • Formal qualification from a recognised tertiary institution or demonstrated skills in a similar role

7.5 hours per day


The primary office is in Canberra, however working remotely from an alternate location (including work from home) and/or flexible work arrangements may be considered. Any approval is at the sole discretion of the AFP. All required travel to and from location will be at the contractor’s expense.
