Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • High level of capability with a range of test automation tools and languages, such as
    VBScript/VB.NET, Selenium, Appium, Java, C#, Rest Assured, Rest Sharp, Maven, SoapUI,
    JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, HTML, and other languages
  • ISTQB Foundation or equivalent certification
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst or equivalent certification
  • Experience or knowledge of, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and automation test tools
  • Certification in automation tools such as Tricentis TOSCA or similar enterprise scale
    commercial test automation tools
    Desirable certification or relevant practical experience:
  • ISTQB Foundation Agile Extension
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Agile Technical Tester
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Mobile Application Testing
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Technical Test Analyst
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer
  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager
  • TOSCA AS1 & AS2

A SFIA 4 employee would generally be required to undertake work that is complex in nature, work
under limited direction with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability.
Employees at this level exercise both initiative and judgment in the interpretation of policy and in
the application of practices and procedures.
SFIA 4 employees provide detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice in relation to
complex problems and may assist in strategic planning, program and project management and
policy development. Employees may have a considerable level of public contact in relation to
difficult or sensitive issues and may liaise with a range of stakeholders in a representational role.
Work may involve management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing
workflows.

Demonstrated experience (6+ years) as a Senior Technical/Automation Test Analyst, including

  • Desirable Programming/scripting (Java & C#).
  • Testing automation tools (Selenium, Appium, SOAP UI, TestNG, JUnit, MsTest, Postman,
    Tosca)
  • Testing in a Windows environment with different application stacks such as Siebel, DotNet,
    SAP, Salesforce, MuleSoft, Mobile app testing (Simulators/Emulators /Windows App/Cloud
    Device Farms such as Browser Stack) and Azure DevOps
  • Working in CI/CD environment/ Test automation Pipeline using YAML
  • Mobile test automation and API automation
  • Test Management tools and DevOps tool chain
  • Working with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in agile teams and good team player
  • Ability to set direction for test automation and implement the enterprise automation test
    strategy.
  • Delivery focused, demonstrated track record of seeing projects through to completion.
  • Ability to solve problems independently and in timely manner.
  • Tailoring communication (written and verbal) to respective audiences
  • Attention to details and quality focus with enterprise vision

Required services include, but are not limited to, the following

  1. Prepare, create, maintain, execute and review test requirements and scripts, derived from
    design analysis and liaise with design, build and business teams
  2. Perform script analysis, test estimation, track work against estimates, report variances to
    team management, and manage resources to ensure project deliverables are met
  3. Create, execute, and report high-quality test artefacts such as matrix, cases, defects,
    complex test data, ensuring adherence to section standards and guidelines
  4. Raise defects, gathering information for defect entries and identifying points of failure and
    organising resources in the investigation of issue
  5. Contribute to and review testing artefacts, including strategies, plans, risk assessments,
    test specifications and/or status reports
  6. Set up execution schedules and maintain farm machines
  7. Review project documents with the ability to analyse highly complex systems and
    interdependencies, identifying key automation tests with a view on Return on Investment
  8. Apply project management principles in the development and delivery of testing objectives
    and outcomes
  9. Continuously monitor, analyse and provide recommendations to improve ROI and funnel
    effectiveness, as well as optimise and streamline existing scripts and processes
  10. Develop, document, monitor and improve testing processes and procedures and promote
    testing best practice
  11. Identify, design, build, and maintain test automation suites using appropriate tools
  12. Assist and maintain Test Automation Framework
  13. Provide recommendations towards financial planning and budgeting within the project and
    using sound judgement collates and provides an analysis of financial data and reports to
    facilitate decision making
  14. Work with manual testers, developers, and Business Analysts to ensure upstream test
    planning is optimised for the efficient delivery of automated testing
  15. Provide clear and concise comments, which needs to be accurate and representative to the
    test artefacts (STLC), ensuring they meet the standards of the section
  16. Raise defects and monitor defect queues, advising when queues are not actioned promptly
    as per section guidelines
  17. Coach, mentor, and provide on-the-job training to automation resources and manual
    testers participating in automation training
  18. Assist in improving test automation capabilities to increase efficiencies in delivery and
    support
  19. Assist in identifying and implementing individual and team training and development
    plans, and monitor progress to remedy knowledge and skill gaps
  20. Participate or facilitate meetings for internal testing operations and external workshops
  21. Initiate, build, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the ICT Division,
    business, and operational areas, internally and externally and
  22. Establish and maintain professional networks to support portfolio and project outcomes
  23. Provide leadership and direction to others and plan, coordinate and prepare individual
    performance, development and succession plans that contribute to the overall strategic
    direction of the agency
  24. Work collaboratively to identify, validate and implement business improvement strategies
    and change initiatives to contribute to the delivery of agency outcomes

    timeframes:
  25. Test scripts and defect register
  26. Test progress reports
  27. Test summary plans
  28. Detailed test plans
  29. Other documentation as requested
